چکیده

Abstract Experimental and numerical studies are carried out to investigate the flexural behavior of precast lightweight composite beams composed a hollow steel beam strengthened with ferrocement layer. This comprises slender cold-formed section dimension (140 × 180 mm) different thicknesses surrounded by is named (FCH). Nine span 1500 mm were tested under four-point bending system evaluate their strength. Four parameters have been examined, which spacing shear connectors, thickness, effect surface friction. The test results showed that presence 30 layer increased capacity 18% compared control specimen. connectors increases 30%. Increasing cross-section increase 16–33% finally, increasing friction has very small on capacity, can be neglected. finite element models developed validated results; show close agreement between experimental results. Extensive investigated, mortar compressive strength (f' c ) position connectors. indicated ranging 11% 18%. connector in web lower flange an insignificant effect.

Strengthening of RC Beams Containing Large Opening at Flexure with CFRP laminates

This paper presents the study of strengthening R/C beams with large circular and square opening located at flexure zone by Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) laminates. A total of five beams were tested to failure under four point loading to investigate the structural behavior including crack patterns, failure mode, ultimate load and load deflection behaviour. Test results show that large o...

A Review on Strengthening Steel Beams Using FRP under Fatigue

In recent decades, the application of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites for strengthening structural elements has become an efficient option to meet the increased cyclic loads or repair due to corrosion or fatigue cracking. Hence, the objective of this study is to explore the existing FRP reinforcing techniques to care for fatigue damaged structural steel elements. This study covers the...

Collimation with hollow electron beams.

A novel concept of controlled halo removal for intense high-energy beams in storage rings and colliders is presented. It is based on the interaction of the circulating beam with a 5-keV, magnetically confined, pulsed hollow electron beam in a 2-m-long section of the ring. The electrons enclose the circulating beam, kicking halo particles transversely and leaving the beam core unperturbed. By ac...
